Since 2004, Life Transforming Ministries has offered a partnership drive Free Tax Preparation Program to the community called VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). This program benefits hardworking households who likely qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit with volunteer sites in communities throughout the county.
An hour of volunteering produces an average of $1,000 in refunds back into the community. No prior tax experience is necessary as we train for all positions. If taxes are not your thing, we can always use greeters and Spanish interpreters. This is a perfect short-term community outreach opportunity that runs from February through April 15th. You can always find a shift that fits your schedule as we offer 3-5 hour shifts during the day, evenings, and weekends. Each year thousands of households are served by our VITA volunteers and millions in refunds are returned to the taxpayers. We hope you’ll consider joining us in 2025.
