"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

- Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Each year, communities across America come together and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day not as a day away from work but instead as a DAY OF SERVICE. One of United Way's strengths is the power of our volunteers and we encourage everyone to reach out, connect to your community, and LIVE UNITED. Use the links below to find a service project that interests you and makes you feel good about giving your time.

Martin Luther King Day Jr. DAY OF SERVICE

MLK Day is a chance to start the year off right by making an impact in your community. The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.

United We Serve

The President is calling on all Americans to participate in our nation's recovery and renewal by serving in our communities. There are many ways to get involved. America's new foundation will be built one community at a time - and it begins with you.

18th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service

Please join us on January 21, 2013 for our 18th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service when we expect another tremendous turnout throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Last January, more than 100,000 volunteers throughout our region served in some 1,500 King Day of Service projects, once again making it the largest King Day event in the nation.
