FREE Program! Adults only please.

Drugs 101: What Parents Need to Know seeks to educate parents about the signs, symptoms and current trends associated with drug and alcohol abuse among teenagers. A mock bedroom of a teenage drug user's room serves as the backdrop to the presentation. Parents will have a chance to inspect the mock bedroom to try to identify possible signs of drug use.

Throughout the program, more than 70 trendy drug indicators will be unveiled. Some items such as a hollowed-out book may seem harmless but it can be a discreet hiding spot for drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Signs, symptoms and current trends of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and inhalants will be presented, along with prescription drugs, cocaine and methamphetamines. Included in the program are "live" roll playing demonstrations to help parents initiate and engage their child in conversations about drugs.

Pre-registration is required. Sponsored by Downingtown Area Communities That Care.
